FAQ: Continuing Education Credits for JEMS Webcasts
Question 1: Is this webcast accredited to provide continuing education credits for nurses or physicians?
JEMS CE webcasts are accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Prehospital Continuing Education (CAPCE) to provide continuing education credits for prehospital providers only – EMTs and paramedics. It is not accredited for nurses or physicians. However, other healthcare providers may be able to submit JEMS CE documentation to their respective credentialing or licensing organizations for consideration. Question 2: How do I earn continuing education credit for a JEMS CE webcast?
There are three things that must be completed to earn continuing education for a webcast:
- When you register for the webcast, you must enter in ALL license information requested.
- You must watch the webcast LIVE and watch 80% of the webcast. At this time, we do not provide continuing education credit for archived webcasts.
- The survey at the end of the webcast must be completed.

Please allow 2-3 business days for the data from your webcast to be processed. Following the webcast, you will receive an email that is sent to the email address submitted when you registered with details and instructions on how to obtain your CE certificate. If you do not receive your certificate within 5 business days following the webcast, please contact Sara Jones at [email protected].
Question 3: How do I know if I can earn continuing education credit for this webcast?
When you register for the webcast, there will be a note at the top (above the description) that will say, “This Webcast is CAPCE-accredited and attendees that watch the webcast LIVE will receive 1 hour of CE credit!” If the webcast does not list this, then the webcast is not CAPCE-accredited.
Question 4: How many continuing education credits will I receive for each webcast?
CAPCE-accredited webcasts provide one continuing education credit/hour.
Question 5: I registered for the webcast, but I didn’t receive a certificate for continuing education credit. Why?
There are a few reasons why you may not have received credit:
- You didn’t watch the webcast during the live broadcast. All webcasts must be viewed LIVE to receive credit.
- You didn’t watch the webcast for 80% of the allotted time.
- You didn’t complete the survey at the end of the webcast.
- Your license information was incomplete when you registered.

Question 6: Can I receive partial credit if I didn’t attend the webcast for the entire time?
No. We cannot grant partial credit for a webcast. Webcasts are accredited for the full time and we cannot split the credit.
