Boston, Ma – A Boston paramedic accused of shooting and wounding his deceased colleague’s brothers, then using his emergency training to treat them, has been found dead at his home hours after posting bail.
Suffolk District Attorney spokesman Jake Wark confirmed a suicide Monday at the Boston address of 41-year-old Rhys Williams.
In a statement, Boston EMS offered prayers to Williams’ family and said it was “deeply saddened by this tragedy.”
Williams was found hours after he was released on $30,000 bail on charges of assault with intent to murder. He had been on administrative leave.
Police say Williams went to a Sept. 20 party in Abington after attending a benefit for his former partner, Mark Brinkman, who died in May.
Williams allegedly shot John Brinkman and Paul Brinkman after a dispute, but then treated them on the scene.Related
