Roderick Williams

Fire Chief

Roderick S. Williams was appointed by Orlando, Fla., Mayor Buddy Dyer in February 2015 to serve as Fire Chief of the Orlando Fire Department (OFD). During his more than 20-year tenure with the OFD, Chief Williams has served in many capacities, including Deputy Chief for the Fire Administrative Services Bureau, Assistant Chief in Administration, and in the Training Division where he focused on technology and field operations, as well as recruitment and mentoring programs. Under his leadership, OFD implemented fire-based transport to ensure a continuum of care for Orlando residents and achieved a Class 1 ISO Rating and International Accreditation, making OFD one of only 15 departments in the nation to have both.
