RIVERDALE, Md. (MyFoxDC) – Four children playing in a kiddie pool have been taken to the hospital after being struck an SUV in Riverdale, Md.
The SUV was involved of a two-vehicle collision at 57th Avenue and Jenifer Place. The SUV left the roadway and ran through the front yard of a home where six children were playing in the pool.
The vehicle struck four of the children and came to rest at the side of the home.
The four children taken to the hospital are 10 years old or younger. One of the children is in critical condition and the other three are in serious condition.
The female driver of the SUV and her eight-year-old child were also injured and transported to the hospital in serious condition.
It is unknown what caused the initial accident.
The other vehicle involved in the crash stayed at the scene.
Prince George’s County Police are investigating the accident.
