MO EMT Students Help Instructor Suffering from Seizure

A group of EMT students in St. Charles County, Missouri, are being praised for helping their teacher who suffered a seizure during class, according to First Alert 4.

The students with the Respond Right EMS Academy in St. Peters were just three weeks into the course and had just learned about seizures hours earlier.

“Do I think they are completely the reason I’m sitting here today? 100 percent, 100 percent,” said Donna Weiss. “I already knew they were going to be great providers, but after watching that video, there’s no way you could think they’d be anything but great.”

“To only be three weeks into their program and execute everything the way they did, it’s amazing,” she added. “I am so proud of them.”

Weiss said she has no memory of what happens and only remembers being wheeled into the hospital. She was later able to watch how her students reacted and came to her aid by watching a video recording from inside the classroom.
