MD Nail Salon Blast Injures Four Police Officers, Two Paramedics

A former employee at a nail salon set it on fire Monday night, touching off an explosion and fire that sent two EMS providers and four police officers to the hospital, police said.

The explosion occurred in the 1700 block of Rolling Road at the Libra Nails & Spa in a mall in Windsor Mill. Police were called to the store with a report of a former employee who would not leave. Police say they believe the man then touched off a fire, perhaps deliberately, that caused an explosion.

The man suffered severe injuries in the blast and six first responders had to go to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation injuries. They are expected to be fine.

The man will face charges in the case.
