Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel and American Medical Response paramedics respond to a vehicle crash along southbound State Route 14 in Antelope Valley, Calif. A vehicle stalled from loss of power and was consequently hit from behind, causing a three-car collision. Two vehicles sustained major damage, and one driver had to be extricated with the jaws of life tool. All four patients–three adults and one 10-year-old male–were treated with C-spine precautions. All adults were transported to trauma centers despite not having life-threatening injuries, and the pediatric patient was airlifted to the Children’s Hospital of L.A.
