Kansas City (MO) Registered Nurse Dies from Coronavirus

Celia Yap-Banago, a Research Medical Center (RMC) nurse in Kansas City, Missouri, who was scheduled to retire next week, died Tuesday night after contracting COVID-19 from a patient, according to a report from CBS affiliate KCTV5.

Yap-Banango had a 40-year career as a nurse in the Kansas City area and had been taking care of patients at the RMC.

Nurses from across the region will hold a candlelight vigil Thursday night at RMC, located at 2316 E. Meyer Blvd, at 8 p.m. to honor her life and service.
