Injured Woman Extricated from Broadsided Pickup

Fairfield, Calif., firefighters work to extricate a 30-year-old woman after the 2000 Dodge pickup she was driving was broadsided by a big rig at the intersection of State Route 12 and Beck Avenue. The woman was transported by REACH Air Medical Services to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, where she recovered from broken bones, a lacerated left arm and internal injuries. An infant also in the pickup wasn’t injured. The driver of the big rig was arrested for driving under the influence.
