An FDNY EMT has been charged with stealing an ATM card from a 79-year-old patient he was treating.
Robert Marshall, 29, of College Point, Queens, was working the ambulance on August 8th when the incident occured.
The ambulance responded to help a 79-year-old Springfield Gardens woman at about 9 a.m. and transported her to a hospital for medical attention.
Several days later, the woman reported that her ATM card was missing from her wallet. Upon investigation, police were able to find video recordings showing Marshall using the card to make purchases, according to Queens District Attorney Melinda Katz. He allegedly bought champagne, pizza, and other foods before discarding the card.
Marshall was indicted on 12 counts including forgery in the second degree, falsifying business records in the first degree, grand larceny in the fourth degree, criminal possession of stolen property in the fourth degree, identity theft in the second and third degree, petit larceny and unlawful possession of personal identification information in the third degree.
He returns to court December 16; he faces up to seven years in jail.
