Face Transplant Recipient’s Rescuers Recount Story

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Ohio — Connie Culp of Jefferson County is the first-ever U.S. face transplant patient. Her husband, Thomas, shot her in the face back in September 2004.

Culp has come a long way since the shooting. On Tuesday NEWS9 relived some of her history.

First responders talked with NEWS9 about the night they rushed to Culp’s aid.
