Did Terrorists with Car Bombs Trail Ambulances?

AHMEDABAD, India — The blasts that took place at Civil and LG Hospitals have taken centre stage in the blast investigations. Not only was the intensity of blasts high, but also the modus operandi different from the other 14 blasts earlier in the evening.

Officers of intelligence agencies who rushed to Gujarat after the blasts are probing a possibility whether the car bombs had followed the ambulances bringing patients into the hospital , moments before the explosions . “The terrorists could have been actually trailing the ambulances,” said sleuths.

Officials of the Central intelligence agencies took stock of trauma centres at the Civil Hospital and were looking closely at a coincidence – soon as an ambulance reached, the bomb exploded, killing 15. Was it a coincidence or a deliberate act?
