Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center to Begin Coronavirus Vaccine Trials

In the coming weeks, Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center will be one of four four sites in the country to begin human trials for a COVID-19 vaccine, according to a report from WCPO9.

A statement from the hospital noted that its screening process has begun for people who want to participate in the first clinical trials of the BNT162 vaccine program. Pharmaceutical company Pfizer and biotech company BioNTech created both the program and potential vaccine.

Initial tests will be conducted on approximately 90 participants, who will be given a part of the COVID-19 virus to create antibodies within each participant’s body to fight the virus.
