To help in the fight against fight COVID-19, 3-D printers are being run out of the Carson City Library in Nevada to provide much-needed medical supplies for hospitals, laboratories, and other facilities, as reported by ABC affiliate KOLO8.
Among the supplies being created by the printers are tubes for respirators desperately needed by a local hospital.
Library employee Tod Colegrove says the 3-D printers are also being used to provide personal protective equipment for medical and other personnel, which is vital to medical safety.
Recently, the state of Nevada asked Colegrove if he and his staff could help make swabs to collect nasal secretions for COVID-19 testing. Here, they are being made by the printers through a multilevel process.
