Keeping in line with the company’s sustainability objectives, Demers Ambulances line of vehicles with ECOSmart Technologies, are making an impact on the environment and the bottom line. The aerodynamic lines are not just for looks; the high-strength aluminum and composite materials reduce the vehicle’s weight without sacrificing durability. The lightweight design provides good fuel economy and can save up to 8% in fuel cost. The ECOSmart Anti-Idling System, powered by DEMS (Demers Electrical Management System) provides a saving of $1,500—$2,000 a year in fuel savings, a 40% reduction in fuel consumption during idle time and a positive impact on the environment with a reduction of 4.5 tons of CO2 emissions per vehicle, per year.
