New Jersey EMT, 24, Dies of Coronavirus Complications

An EMT from New Jersey died from complications with the coronavirus. Kevin Leiva was 24 years old, nj.com reported.

“We thank him for his service to our state and our families,” New Jersey Gov. Phil Murphy said. “We will not forget him.”

Friends described him as funny, positive and hard-working.

Leiva was an EMT in North Bergen and at Saint Clare’s Dover Hospital. Leiva is the second EMT who worked at Saint Clare’s to have died from complications.

He leaves behind his wife Marina. A candlelight vigil is planned for Friday at the Passaic EMS headquarters, 54 Grove St., Passaic, N.J., 07055.
