Nearly 80 emergency medical service employees will be let go by the end of summer at McLaren Bay Region Hospital (MI), according to a report in Michigan Live.
The hospital said 74 EMT dispatchers and paramedics will be terminated by August 29. The nonprofit Medstar Ambulance has agreed to buy the capital assets of McLaren Bay Region’s EMS operations and facilities, according to the report.

Medstar may offer some McLaren Bay Region employees, according to Regional Vice President of Human Resources Carolyn Potter.
Medstar is composed of stakeholders from McLaren Health Care, Ascension-Michigan, and Henry Ford Health System.
