A 4-month-old has died following a two-vehicle wreck involving an ambulance on Federal Drive.

Montgomery police Capt. Saba Coleman said Israel Barrera, who suffered life-threatening injuries in the wreck, died at the hospital.

The wreck occurred Tuesday about 2:30 p.m. in the 1100 block of Federal Drive. The cause of the wreck is still under investigation, but it involved an ambulance and the 2008 Nissan Altima Barrera was a passenger in.

The ambulance did not have a patient at the time of the wreck, Coleman said Tuesday.

The two EMS personnel inside the ambulance suffered minor injuries. The driver of the Altima, and another passenger also suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
