Chicago Fire Department Paramedic Tests Positive for COVID-19

A Chicago Fire Department paramedic has tested positive for COVID-19, the city said at a briefing today, according to the Chicago Sun-Times.

“There’s no indication that the member contracted the virus during a service call. The case is doing well in isolation at home,” said Dr. Allison Arwady, Chicago’s health commissioner.

The paramedic’s partner, and others in close contact with the paramedic, are in quarantine. Arwady said the firehouse where the paramedic was cleaned.
