Budget Could Close Staten Island Ambulance

STATEN ISLAND – The city’s budget ax could fall on the EMS station at a firehouse in Staten Island’s Rossville section.

Fire Department officials are mulling a plan to cut two tour shifts and one ambulance from EMS Battalion 23, which is housed with Engine 168 at the Rossville stationhouse, FDNY spokesman Frank Dwyer said.

Dwyer noted that a Staten Island University Hospital ambulance would replace any Fire Department ambulance cut from EMS Battalion 23.
