Prince William Visits FDNY Ten House to Honor First Responders, Raise Mental Health Awareness

Prince William, in a whirlwind two-day trip to New York, visited FDNY’s Ten House to offer support to first responders and discuss mental health issues.

The Ten House fire station is located downtown near the World Trade Center, and five members of the firehouse were killed in the terrorist attacks in 2001. The Prince of wales took time to view the memorial wall that is constructed at the station.

William, 41, was in New York City to expand the international awareness of Earthshot innovation awards. But he also took time to visit with FDNY firefighters and call attention to the importance of mental health for first responders.

The firefighters exchanged good natured jokes with the prince, asking where his wife Kate was.

The visit is his first solo trip to the US in an official capacity, comes at a time when his popularity is soaring in the United States.
