Meet Tanner Owen Tero, the 1-day-old son of EMT Titus Tero, one of the New Orleans EMS crew members on the new A&E Series NIGHTWATCH.
The beautiful baby boy and his mom, Dawn, are resting comfortably while dad returns to the streets of New Orleans in his New Orleans EMS (NOEMS) ambulance along with partner, paramedic Dan Flynn. Dressed in infant sneakers and a New Orleans Tee-Shirt little Tanner looks very much like his Dad.
Tero and Flynn are representing NOEMS (and the EMS “community”) of NIGHTWATCH as they respond a select number of the 1,000 9-1-1 call received in New Orleans on any given day. Tero and Flynn are two of the primary “cast” members that are featured on real action series that focuses on the busy and often dangerous 8 PM to 4 AM shift, a time when some of the more hazardous, critical and bizarre calls are received.
Titus has been an EMT with NOEMS for seven years and is currently in paramedic school in addition to his full-time hours on the streets of New Orleans and his new role as a Daddy. Titus says he loves working in EMS “because every call is different, never repetitive. I enjoy meeting and talking to new people. Every day I get to meet and talk to someone I didn’t know the day before.”
Critics are giving high ratings to the series because it is real, fast-paced, well edited and focusing on the true interaction of police, fire and EMS responders in one of America’s largest, diverse and vibrant cities.
Baby Tanner will make a “guest appearance” on a future episode because the A&E crews were on hand to capture the magic moment after his birth when he met the crews of New Orleans EMS fir the first time. Go to EMT Titus Tero’s Facebook page to congratulate him on not just representing us all on NIGHTWATCH but also on the birth of his first son, Tanner!
Watch Episode 3 (“OFFICER DOWN”) tonight and every Thursday night on A&E when the crews respond to help one of their own.
