Delaware County (IN) EMS Mourns Longtime Paramedic

A paramedic with Indiana’s Delaware County Emergency Medical Services unexpectedly died in his sleep at his station, the agency said.

Lt. Kurt Mathews was found to be unresponsive in his bunk Thursday morning at EMS Station 2. He had been with the service for 17 years.

“The Delaware County Emergency Services express our deepest condolences to the Mathews family,” the department wrote on Facebook announcing his death.
