JOHNSON CITY, N.Y. — The brotherof Binghamton mass shooting survivor Shirley DeLucia (dee-LOO’-shuh) says his sister “rolls her eyes” at suggestions she’s a hero.
DeLucia is a receptionist at the American Civic Association, where police say 41-year-old Jiverly Wong opened fire Friday.
Police have called her a hero for feigning death after being shot, then calling 911 despite her injuriess and staying on the line.
Lyle Fassett says his sister is still a little fearful after surviving a gunman’s rampage last Friday that left 14 dead, including the shooter. But he expects her to bounce back, physically and emotionally.
DeLucia’s surgeon said Monday morning that DeLucia is in stable condition and her prognosis “is for a full recovery.”
