4A: Apply the tourniquet under the leg and scissor it up as high as possible. Tighten the strap in a ratcheting manner. Ensure you can’t place two fingers under the strap, then twist and tighten the windlass until bleeding ceases.

4B: Secure the remaining strap and windlass rod in place in the CAT cradle.

4C: Secure the Velcro strap over the windlass lock-in area on the CAT or secure the SOFT-T windlass (shown here) in the V-shaped locking triangle. (Note: This applied tourniquet has too much slack in the band.)
