This NOAA satellite image taken Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015, at 9:45 AM EDT shows a cold front stretching from the Northeast into the central US. A long the front is a developing low pressure over New England. This is producing heavy rain and thunderstorms. Behind the storm system is an are of high pressure, producing clear skies for the Northern Plains. In the Caribbean region is Hurricane Joaquin.
