TX Paramedic Takes to YouTube to Share EMS Tips

A Texas firefighter is sharing his EMS expertise on a YouTube channel designed to educate both first responders and others about how to handle issues on emergency calls.

After years of experience on the frontlines, Firefighter/Paramedic Mario Martinez became an EMS instructor, and he noticed a growing need for accessible and informative resources for both aspiring EMS professionals and the general public, CBS 19 reports.

The information, he hopes, breaks down complex medical topics and EMS practices into easily digestible lessons, especially valuable to firefighters whose primary interest is in the fire side of the profession but find themselves running a lot of medical calls.

In his videos, Mario offers an inside look at what to expect during EMS rides, station life at the fire department, and explains medical procedures such as respiratory calls.

In just 10 months, Mario’s YouTube channel, “Amateur EMS,” has gained over 3,600 subscribers.
