Southeastern Emergency Equipment to Hold Paramedic Refresher Courses in March 2012

Wake Forest, NC —— Todd Baker, Director of Training and Education for Southeastern Emergency Equipment, has announced a week-long refresher course to meet all core NREMT-P requirements in one week! The lecture and lab component will be held March 5 — 8 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., with one ACLS refresher course on March 9 and one PALS refresher course on March 10, each from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The courses will be held at the Southeastern Emergency Equipment Training & Education Center, located at 5762 Hwy 96W in Youngsville, N.C.

Completion of the lecture component will meet all the NREMT-P mandatory and flexible core content areas with exception of eight hours in airway, breathing, cardiology and eight hours in OB/Peds. If participants elect to take the optional ACLS and PALS refreshers, ALL hours will be met for the required 48-hour paramedic refresher course. In addition, Southeastern Emergency Equipment has teamed with Medic CE to offer online EMS education. The NREMT allows 10 hours of the required 48-hour refresher course to be completed online and 12 hours of the required 24 additional hours to be completed online.

“We understand that finding time to meet the requirements of the NREMT-P is tough for most working professionals,” said Baker. “That’s why we are offering this week-long course and online segment designed to complement the classroom material. We want to make this course as convenient as possible, with the final goal being your completion of all NREMT-P requirements.”

All AHA components will be coordinated through the Southeastern Emergency Equipment CTC and will follow AHA guidelines. The ACLS and PALS courses require successful completion of a written and practical component.
