Paramedics from the Ada County (Idaho) Special Operations Team participate in a monthly high-angle training drill. In remote areas with steep terrain, these paramedics are equipped to rappel cliffs, mountains and building ledges to safely secure victims, provide prehospital care and transport patients to medical facilities. The team currently has 20 EMTs and paramedics, all of whom must complete an initial 60 hours of rope rescue training.
