The former Hamilton police chief and three other former North Shore public safety officials will be arraigned today for their alleged involvement in an EMT training scandal that hit the Danvers and Hamilton police departments.
Investigators for Attorney General Martha Coakley accuse Walter D. Cullen, 61, the former Hamilton police chief, and James Foley, 48, a former Wenham police lieutenant and Ipswich selectmen, of receiving their EMT recertification from the state by presenting credits for recertification classes that they did not attend or were never conducted.
Earlier this month, a Essex County Grand Jury indicted Cullen, Foley, and two others, Henry Michalski Jr., 61, the retired fire chief for Middleton and Ipswich, and David Mastrianni, 45, a former reserve Hamilton cop who gave EMT training for the department.
