Clark County (NV) Opens Free EMT Academy to Address Shortage

Clark County has launched a new, free training academy to turn out trained emergency medical technicians (EMT) to ease the shortage of medics in the state.

Starting this February, the academy is offering a comprehensive 9-week program that prepares individuals to become EMTs.

Nevada currently ranks lowest in the nation for ambulance stations per 1,000 square miles, leaving many areas with limited access to emergency medical services.

The program offers a two-week boot camp, including ride-alongs with current EMTs, followed by hands-on training designed to ensure graduates are ready for success in the field.

The academy is open for applications now. No prior experience is required, but applicants must have a high school diploma or GED. Applications for the program are open until February 7, 2025. Those interested in applying can learn more and submit their applications at https://lnkd.in/gMQ7bWRQ.
