However, some may ask themselves how do I know if I should attend the symposium? I’m a novice instructor? I only teach part time, the material may be too advanced for me? Or I’ve been an EMS instructor for 20 years there is no need for me to attend this, I’m an expert! Well, here are some facts on why as an educator YOU should attend the NAEMSE Symposium this year!
So, who should attend the NAEMSE Educational Symposium?

“¢ EMS Instructors
“¢ EMS Training Officers

What types of educational opportunities are offered for educators?
The NAEMSE Symposium has been designed by the 2010 Program Committee — led by Chicago native Linda Abrahamson — to help develop skills for the new instructor and to strengthen the skills of the established instructor. It is where pre-conferences have been developed for practical application for EMS education at all levels. These sessions offer you a chance to immerse yourself deeply into a single subject. It has been designed to offer concurrent sessions for varying levels of expertise, experience and skill levels. It is where you can find the tools and knowledge you need to design creative and motivational classroom techniques. It is where YOU will be able to network with your peers in a friendly atmosphere.
How do I know I will gain the knowledge and techniques to take back to my classroom? Well, here is what past attendees have had to say about session content:
“The practical practice of doing the info was so excellent. It gives me a lot of ideas for teaching different subjects without so much lecture/PPT–Thank you!”
“What a great course! I would like to see this class again as a pre-con with more time allowed, to demonstrate more ideas. Before this class I didn’t really understand the difference between psychomotor and kinesthetic, but now I get it! Thanks for a great session!”
“This session gave me useful information on recruitment and instructor training. I found this session very beneficial. Growing the future of EMS.”
“The information was great, excellent speakers, excellent and relevant topics.”
“Great job to NAEMSE staff and helpers. Great classes, great information, great products and companies on tradeshow floor. Overall A+ from me.”
Which sessions should I attend — they’re so many?
We advise attendees to review the program descriptions and to choose sessions
dealing with topics that you wouldn’t ordinarily get at your state conference or other national conferences. Look for topics that are relevant to your needs as well as those that offer you new perspectives and the chance to exercise new areas of creativity. In order to ensure the correct seating, we ask that you register for the sessions you want to attend. If you change your mind at symposium time, just see one of our staff members at the registration desk. You can download the program brochure at www.naemse.org/sympsoium.
