Grand Strand Health has purchased two new ambulances dedicated to interfacility transport.
The hospital held a special blessing ceremony to unveil the two new ambulances, WBTW reports.
The new ambulances will move patients between Grand Strand’s main hospital and its three freestanding emergency departments.
“From a patient standpoint, they can expect expedited care,” Grand Strand CEO Mark Sims told WBTW. “If they need to be admitted to our hospital, this transport service will be immediately available to ensure their safe and swift arrival.”
Grand Strand has also hired 31 newly certified EMTs and paramedics to operate the ambulances.
