While working the scene of a rollover accident Wednesday, Sunset firefighters positioned an engine to protect the scene.
The department reports on Facebook: “We were on the shoulder and were still struck by a passing 18 Wheeler, sending the engine approximately 60 feet before it came to a rest.
“Losing this apparatus is a devastating blow to our small Volunteer Department, but this truck did it’s job. Fortunately there were no injuries as a result of this secondary accident.
Please move over and slow down.”
