Scenes from the Wildfires

JEMS Editor’s Note:Kate Leidiger is the daughter of JEMS and JEMS.com Advertising Director Judi Leidiger. Kate, whose first week in EMS coincided with the devastating fires in San Diego County, worked a 37-hour shift, slept for eight hours then worked a 25-hour shift. As if that weren’t exciting enough, she then met Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and President George W. Bush. We appreciate the work of Kate and the other prehospital providers who are working hard to ensure firefighters and civilians alike are safe during the fires.

SAN DIEGO– Kate Leidiger’s first week on the job certainly was more eventful than expected. A 20-year-old Del Cerro resident, she was a brand-new EMT with Rural Metro when the fires broke out.
