PRENTICE, Wis. — The Prentice Volunteer Fire Department and Ambulance Service is offering to pay for the cost of training as a way to incentivize volunteerism, according to a report.

The service covers the southern third of Price County — about 525 square miles — and the service is currently stretched thin, according to WJFW-TV.
Prentice Village Board President Bruce Jilka tells the station he hopes the EMT class offered this spring at North Central Technical College in Phillips will help fill those gaps.
