Woman Pulled from Bolton Lake in Vernon (CT) Airlifted to Hospital on Christmas

Dec. 25—VERNON — A woman needed to be rescued from the Llynwood Drive area of Bolton Lake on Christmas Day morning, according to a town official.

Vernon Fire Chief Steve Eppler said that around 10:30 a.m., a call came in that a person was in the water and needed help.

Once firefighters arrived, the person was no longer in the water, Eppler said. He was unsure if the police department assisted with the rescue or not.

Eppler said that the person was evaluated by a medic for hypothermia. The person was then airlifted by LifeStar to the hospital, Eppler said.

The woman, who is in her 50s, according to police Lt. Robert Marra, and had fallen through the ice.

There was no further information on the woman’s condition and why she was on the ice as of 1 p.m. Marra said that the investigation is ongoing.
