WTTG – WASHINGTON – Authorities have rescued a woman who apparently drove her car off the road and into the Anacostia River. D.C. Fire and EMS spokesman Pete Piringer says a Metropolitan Police officer and construction workers watched the car go off the road shortly before 2 p.m. on Thursday. The workers were able to reach the vehicle with a boat and broke a window with an oar, Piringer said.
