HOUSTON (Houston Chronicle) – An effort to rescue a worker trapped on the East Loop bridge over the Ship Channel played out on live TV on Wednesday afternoon. The man appeared to be trapped in a manhole.
The incident was reported shortly at 4 p.m., and was broadcast on KTRK. Several lanes were closed during the rescue effort. KPRC also showed the dramatic scene.
Crews pulled the man out of the hole shortly before 5 p.m. His injuries are unclear at this time. Traffic remain backed up.
