Rescue Workers Find Missing Man’s Body After More than Three Months

Oct. 2–Rescue workers Monday found the vehicle of a Cameron man who had been missing for more than three months after his truck vanished during heavy rains.

James Mollica, 53, was found buckled in the driver’s seat of his truck. Authorities believe he drove the vehicle into the Little River at F.M. 486 while on his way to visit his wife in Thorndale. Rescue efforts were halted for months, however, because rescue workers said heavy rains had made the water too dangerous.

Flood gates that fed the river were closed Friday, causing the water level to drop more than 10 feet and allowing divers to enter the river.

The truck was found Monday afternoon filled with mud and water.
