Paramedic Injured While Rescuing Dog

MORGANTON, N.C. — A paramedic with the Burke County Rescue Squad fractured ribs during his successful effort to save a dog trapped in a drainage pipe off N.C. 126.

While a thunderstorm threatened on Tuesday, Wesly Braswell, 22, of Connelly Springs tried to help Dan, the trapped dog, out of the pipe.
