A Kenmore man was rescued at the Ellicott Island Bark Park in the Town of Tonawanda on Saturday morning after he had retrieved his dog from the water.
Amherst police said the 39-year-old man was walking his two dogs in the park when one of the dogs went down a steep embankment and into the water.

A Kenmore man was rescued on Saturday at the Ellicott Creek Bark Park.
The man entered the water and was able to remove his dog, but was unable to climb back up the steep embankment, police said.

Amherst police and the Ellicott Creek Volunteer Fire Department reported to the scene. Members of the fire department helped the man and his dog back up the embankment.
Twin City Ambulance took the man to Kenmore Mercy Hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
