Jaws of Life Save Trapped Boy at Water Park

Rescuers had to use the Jaws of Life to save a child who was trapped under a partition at a water park in Buena Park, Calif., Monday, KTLA reports.

Fire crews were called to Knotts Berry Farm’s Surf City water park after a 12-year-old boy became trapped under a metal partition. The boy’s leg was trapped and rescuers tried to use airbags to lift the partition off of his leg.

When that did not work, the Orange County Fire rescue crews brought in the Jaws of Life to lift the partition high enough for the boy’s leg to be pulled out.

The child was not seriously injured, according to officials, and was released to his father.

The incident is under investigation by the amusement park. The ride was reopened after the incident.
