DACULA, GA — Firefighters rescued a worker who fell down a manhole at a retention pond late Thursday morning.
According to Gwinnett Fire Captain Tommy Rutledge, the worker, a supervisor with an excavating and grading company, was climbing down an access ladder on a 15-to-20 foot tall tower above the pond when he fell.
Rescue crews were able to get to him through a 48-inch pipe that leads to the the tower and the pond.
The man was working at the site with a crew and was working to adjust piping.
