1 Injured, 1 Killed in Fire Engine Accident in California

A City of Poway Fire Department vehicle responding to a medical emergency with lights and siren on collided with another vehicle early Wednesday morning. The driver of the other vehicle was rescued by crews and transported to the hospital with potentially life-threatening industries, according to local reports. His passenger died at the scene.

No firefighters were reported injured in the collision, which was under investigation.

An ambulance following the fire engine continued on to the original medical emergency while the firefighters on the fire engine stayed on scene to help the victims until additional emergecy crews could arrive.
