Ohio Woman Killed in Industrial Accident

BARBERTON, Ohio (AP) – A medical examiner’s office in northeast Ohio says a 51-year-old woman was killed when she became entangled in a paper rolling machine at the plant where she worked.

The medical examiner and police are investigating the Monday industrial accident at PPG Industries in Barberton, near Akron, that killed Wendy Breiding.

The Akron Beacon Journal (http://bit.ly/13t7GJc ) reports that her death was ruled accidental after an autopsy Tuesday.

The Pittsburgh-based company said it is cooperating with local authorities and conducting its own investigation. Breiding’s family declined to comment.

PPG has about 150 employees at its Barberton site, where it makes optical products and silicas used in the tire, food, footwear, printing and other industries.
