For 40 years the North Memorial Air Care team has been a lifeline for patients in critical need, transporting and treating thousands in Minnesota and beyond.
Since its beginnings in 1985 the Air Care team has grown into a vital emergency response service that serves 85,000 patients annually with a fleet of seven helicopters, WCCO reports.
As the Air Care team celebrates 40 years, flight paramedic Mark Sledam, who has spent 24 years with the team, describes the job as both exhilarating and unpredictable. “It’s been a wonderful journey and one that we hope continues for many years to come,” he told the station.
