North Kansas City (MO) Probing How Woman Transported to Hospital Wound Up Dead in Parking Lot

North Kansas City police are investigating the death of 63-year-old Laura Fells, who was found in a parking lot on the North Kansas City Hospital campus Monday morning.

Kansas City Fire Department transported Fells to the hospital by ambulance as a patient less than 24 hours earlier, Fox 4 reports.

Hospital records show Fells arrived at 12:23 p.m. on Sunday. However, what happened between her arrival and when her body was discovered the next morning at 9:45 a.m. remains unclear, Fox 4 reports.

The hospital released a statement confirming it is aware of the death on its campus and said it is cooperating with investigators but declined to provide further details.
