Jan. 4—A Brentwood man is facing multiple charges after a police pursuit Friday night resulted in a rollover crash of a state trooper’s vehicle and later of the suspect’s, State Police said Saturday.
The suspect, later identified as Michael P. Holt, 56, of Brentwood was charged with three counts of felony reckless conduct and misdemeanor counts of disobeying an officer, aggravated driving while intoxicated, conduct after an accident, and criminal mischief, according to a Saturday afternoon news release. Holt also was cited for a violation of reckless operation, as well as numerous other violations.
About 11 p.m. Friday, police said, State Trooper Shane McClure clocked a Toyota Camry traveling at 131 mph on Route 101 westbound in Exeter. McClure caught up with the car and activated his police lights to pull it over, but the vehicle continued driving and speeding.
McClure gave chase, and the Toyota took Exit 9 and turned onto Epping Road. McClure, in pursuit, rolled his vehicle near the intersection of Epping Road and Old Town Farm Road. Emergency crews responded to McClure’s crash while other troopers searched for the Toyota.
Police found the suspect vehicle a short time later driving on Middle Road in Brentwood; however, the driver again did not stop and the pursuit continued until troopers use tire deflation devices after he turned onto Deer Hill Road, the report said. The Toyota continued driving back onto Route 101, headed west.
Around Exit 7, the Toyota made a U-turn, driving east in the westbound lanes in the direction of police, the report said, before it again reversed direction.
Near Exit 6, the Toyota lost control and went off the right shoulder before rolling over into the woods off the road, according to police. Troopers surrounded the vehicle, broke a window, ordered the driver to exit and took the suspect, Holt, into custody.

The incident closed Route 101 westbound between exits 6 and 7 for about two hours, according to the report.
