Miami-Dade (FL) are the champions!
The team of paramedics took home the gold medal Friday morning at the 2022 JEMS Games in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The team beat out FDNY (silver) and Sussex County (bronze) in a finals competition that simulated a structure pancake collapse.
“Miami-Dade came here to compete and it shows,” said JEMS Games director Criss Brainard. “From our preliminary competition on Tuesday to our finals on Friday, they proved themselves. They were cool under pressure and knew the medicine. It’s our hope they can take home lessons learned here and pass them down to their colleagues to be better EMS providers in the field.”
“We hope the audience, not only learned from but also enjoyed watching the JEMS Games as we did putting on the competition,” said JEMS Games deputy director Robin Davis. “I also want to give a special thank you to our volunteers who worked hard for months to make the program a success. We couldn’t have done it without them.”
